WrestlePro Confirms Karrion Kross’s First Match Since WWE Exit

Karrion Kross is preparing to return to the squared circle for the first time since leaving WWE earlier this summer. The former NXT Champion, who will once again wrestle under his pre-WWE name Killer Kross, has been announced for WrestlePro’s upcoming show in New Jersey this September.
The independent promotion revealed the news through its official channels, confirming that Kross will be featured at WrestlePro’s event “Killer Smokeshow,” scheduled for Sunday, September 21, in Rahway. The card will also include the presence of his wife and longtime on-screen partner Scarlett Bordeaux, who will accompany him as part of their rebranded act outside WWE.
For fans of the couple, this marks a significant moment. It will be Kross’s first official match since his WWE contract expired on August 10. Although the promotion has yet to announce his opponent, the booking signals the beginning of his next chapter as a performer on the independent circuit.
WrestlePro’s announcement reflected the excitement surrounding the pair’s comeback. “Killer Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux are BACK,” the company wrote in a promotional statement. “Killer Kross is scheduled for in-ring action at ‘Killer Smokeshow,’ with an opponent still to be determined.”
The return is part of a broader project that Kross and Bordeaux have named the “Killer Smokeshow: Carnage Tour.” In addition to live matches, the tour will feature a series of appearances across conventions, fan expos, and autograph sessions, underscoring their popularity beyond the ring. Among the scheduled stops are Mad Monster Expo, Creep I.E. Aftermath, Silver Scream Con, Scaradise, New York Comic Con, and The Big Event EXS.
For Kross, this period offers a chance to reconnect with his fan base after a turbulent stint in WWE. Signed in 2020 with high expectations, he quickly rose to prominence in NXT, capturing the NXT Championship twice. His presentation on the main roster, however, was met with criticism, particularly after his entrance and character underwent significant changes that fans and analysts alike felt stripped away his original appeal.
Scarlett Bordeaux, who had been a vital part of Kross’s persona on the independent scene and in NXT, was notably absent from his main roster debut, which many argued diluted the impact of his character. Both were eventually released from the company in late 2021, though Kross later returned in 2022 for another run before his most recent departure.
The announcement of his WrestlePro appearance is not just another booking but an opportunity for Kross to regain momentum and re-establish the aura that made him one of the most talked-about names in wrestling prior to his WWE run. Independent promotions are often a space for reinvention, and the “Killer Smokeshow” event could serve as a fresh start for both Kross and Bordeaux.
While it remains unclear how extensive his wrestling schedule will be following the tour, fans are already speculating about possible dream opponents on the independent scene. For now, the anticipation is centered on Rahway, where Killer Kross will step back into competition for the first time in over a month, looking to remind the wrestling world why his name carries such weight.
With the “Killer Smokeshow: Carnage Tour” just beginning, the spotlight is once again on Karrion Kross and Scarlett Bordeaux as they prepare to deliver a new chapter of their career on their own terms.
