Blake Monroe Debuts Dark New Persona on WWE NXT

The cheerful, Barbie-inspired era of Blake Monroe is officially over. On the September 9 episode of WWE NXT, the superstar revealed a much darker and more sinister new character, cementing her recent heel turn.
The transformation was unveiled in a video package where Monroe delivered a chilling promo aimed directly at her rival, Jordynne Grace.
“You didn’t humiliate me. You didn’t break me. You woke me up,” Monroe declared. “I’m going to show you why Blake Monroe can make the devil cry. See you in hell, JG.”
This character change is the culmination of an intense rivalry between the two. Tensions exploded last week when Monroe attacked Grace and called herself “the woman from hell.” While Monroe holds a victory over Grace from NXT Heatwave, it was Grace who caused Monroe’s first-ever pinfall loss in NXT after distracting her during a match against Kelani Jordan, setting this dark transformation in motion.
For many fans, this new, darker facet of her character is a return to a familiar identity. The persona is more closely aligned with her previous run in AEW, where she wrestled as Mariah May, bringing her past and present together.
With this transformation, a new and dangerous chapter has begun for Blake Monroe, and her rivalry with Jordynne Grace has been taken to a much more personal and sinister level.
